Mikaa Mered is a French geopolitologist, award-winning author, lecturer and public speaker specialised in the Arctic-Antarctic-Energy-Hydrogen nexus, at the intersection of space, place, security, and trade flows, with a neo-institutionalist approach. He lectures on hydrogen markets, diplomacy and geopolitics at Sciences Po (France), Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (Morocco), HEC Paris business school and the French War College (École de guerre). He also lectures on the geopolitics of Overseas Territories (Outre-mer) at Sciences Po, where he was Secretary-general of the Excellence Chair on Overseas Territories (2021-2022).
Actively trying to connect researchers, industry and policy leaders whenever possible, he collaborates on hydrogen policy research with several think tanks across Europe, sits on the steering committee of the French Hydrogen Task Force, and was named “Green Hydrogen Ambassador” by the International Association on Hydrogen Energy’s Green Hydrogen Division (IAHE-GH2) in 2022.
His first monograph “Les Mondes Polaires” (The Polar Worlds) was published with the French University Press (PUF) in 2019 and has earned two awards. His next monograph, on global hydrogen markets and geopolitics, is due to hit the bookselves in the coming months.
