The relationship between the European Union and Australia has been maturing over many years. The Australian federal Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade notes that, at present, Australia and the European Union (EU) launched negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) on 18 June 2018.
The international network of Australian Business in Europe (ABIE) organisations will host a briefing on the status of the negotiations for the EU-Australia Free Trade Agreement in Brussels.
ABIE was well-represented by its participating organisations this week at the 2018 EU-Australia Leadership Forum in Brussels, part of the EU's suite of public diplomacy actions to build on the existing strong bilateral relationship and to broaden and deepen existing ties.
