ESG in Practice - ABIE Forum and Networking

Tuesday, October 11, 2022

Published on 08.09.2022 by Australasian Business in Europe Czech Republic

Both Australia and New Zealand build their international success on their green image and cultural and socially responsible corporate behaviour.

ESG is not just an important part of that, it's also a hot topic at present.  Lots of people are talking about this topic, but our October forum will be less focused on theoretical talk, and more on action.  We will hear from three speakers who don't just talk ESG, they live it.

Come and learn what ESG has meant for them and prepare yourself and your business for

ESG in Practice - ABIE Forum and Networking

The event, which will take place at Anglo American University, will feature three 15-minute presentations from;

  • Helena Steinerova - GasNet
    GasNet is the Czech Republic's largest natural gas distributor.  They have a strong Australian connection through their part owner, Macquarie Asset Management.  GasNet is a leader in this area in Czech and integrates ESG as a core component of company strategy.  They are also one of only a few Czech companies producing voluntary ESG reporting.

  • Olga Maximova - Czechitas
    Czechitas is a Czech non-profit organization that encourages diversity in the corporate world.  For Czechitas this means empowering girls and women to engage in computing education or career transition. Olga will be well known to many of you as a great fan of New Zealand and as a Fundraising volunteer for CANZA

  • Steffen WalviusJLL
    Steffen is Head of Sustainability Services for long-term ABIE Member, JLL.  Steffen helps JLL clients (RE investors, owners, managers and developers) adopt better environmental, social and governance (ESG) business practices. Real estate is responsible for 40% of global emissions, so Steffen focuses on decarbonising buildings and their operations. In addition, Steffen will talk about what drives clients to tackle ESG issues

This will be followed by an open forum Q&A and discussion session.

The evening will be accompanied by quality NZ and Australian wines as always, finger food and ample networking opportunities.
